This 737.09 gram (1 lb 10 oz) collector's grade golden calcite specimen from the closed Elmwood Mine in Carthage, Tennessee features a double terminated calcite twin in a butterfly formation resting on a base of burnt orange sphalerite. The golden-amber calcite is gemmy with exceptional luster and rainbows scattered throughout, and the cabinet-sized piece measures 11 x 9.5 x 8cm. Double terminated means the crystal formed natural points on both ends, and a butterfly twin is two crystals that grew together and share part of the same crystal structure, spreading like a pair of open wings. Collectors call sharply terminated golden calcite from this mine 'stellar beam' calcite. This specimen is completely natural and untreated.

The Elmwood Mine produced some of the world's most prized calcite, fluorite, and sphalerite specimens before it closed, and with no new material coming out, Elmwood specimens are getting rarer to find on the open market. Elmwood calcites are known for their vibrant color, gem-like transparency, and powerful vibrational qualities, and this piece shows all three.

WHAT THIS STONE IS USED FOR

Golden calcite is selected in the stone medicine space for manifestation and energy amplification. In practice, holistic practitioners work with golden calcite for mental clarity, focus, self-confidence, creativity, and spiritual growth, and it helps ease fear and anxiety while fostering optimism. In meditation, golden calcite amplifies intentions and supports connection to higher realms.

Sphalerite is less well known in metaphysical work, and it offers grounding and balance between the physical and spiritual levels. It supports intuition, personal transformation, creative problem-solving, and transitions, and practitioners also work with sphalerite to access past life memories and ground deep spiritual journeys for greater understanding and integration. Together, the golden calcite and the sphalerite base create an energetic bridge between higher consciousness and grounded stability, which makes this piece well suited to both personal and spiritual growth work.

VIBRATIONAL PROFILE

Yellow Frequency: The golden calcite gives this specimen its yellow frequency component. The yellow frequency stimulates and strengthens the motor nervous system, promotes healthy digestion, energizes the muscles, intestines, and pancreas, and supports the building of strong tissues, organs, bones, and teeth. Energetically, yellow initiates processes and sparks new beginnings, brings unity and cohesion to energy systems, and helps anchor structures and frameworks into place. It also stimulates mental activity and learning, and fosters clear thinking. Rudolf Steiner associated yellow with the Light Ether, the stage where higher energetic forces become visible as light and color. Daskalos used bright yellow to connect with the Sun Forces and the Solar Logos of the ancient Egyptian mysteries.

Orange Frequency: The burnt orange sphalerite and the amber tones of the calcite give this specimen its orange frequency component. The orange frequency is especially effective for loosening and eliminating toxic accumulations in the body. It supports the lungs, kidneys, bladder, and colon, helps remove blood clots and cysts, and acts as a restorative stimulant for the heart. Energetically, orange is expelling and extractive, while emotionally it counteracts depression, discontent, and sluggishness, while simultaneously promoting joy and warmth. Enel observed that physical gold radiates the orange frequency, a finding later confirmed in Dr. Ibrahim Karim's BioGeometry research, where the higher harmonic of gold was detected within the orange frequency band.

Together, the yellow and orange frequencies support joy, growth, mental clarity, and manifestation in a single specimen, which is part of why Elmwood golden calcite is so valued in the holistic practitioner world.

✦ HAND-SELECTED AND VIBRATIONALLY TESTED

This golden calcite specimen has been personally sourced and tested by Ashley Sohl, Ph.D. candidate, GIA-trained gemologist, and originator of archetypal stonework. Each specimen at Sanctuary of Stones is selected to meet strict gemological and vibrational criteria. You receive a natural, untreated stone that has undergone thorough evaluation.

FAQ

JEWELRY

Are the stones and materials you use natural?

Yes! All of the stones we use are high-grade, premium, and 100% natural just as Gaia made them. They are not treated in any way (heat, irradiation, dye, stabilized, etc.) because some treatments alter the vibrational nature of the stone and can be detrimental to the energy field of the wearer. We use either 100% linen or silk thread for our beaded necklaces as they are highly conductive, helping the energy travel powerfully through the piece.

Do pieces come in other sizes or stone combinations?

Each piece made is unique and not made to order. Therefore, this piece cannot be altered and does not come in other sizes or stone combinations. However, if you like this piece and want it longer, made with different stones, or altered in any way, please reach out to request a custom order via the Contact page.

Who made the pieces in your store?

Each piece is handcrafted with intention and love by founder Ashley Sohl. She hand-picks every stone and component that is used, and handmakes each piece with care and attention. We do not believe in mass produced, cookie-cutter jewelry. Sanctuary Vibrational Jewelry makes unique stone ally adornments for inner journeys and personal transformation.

How do you know the vibration of the stones?

The vibrational qualities are painstakingly tested by Ashley using a comibination of ancient and modern vibrational scientific techniques from different schools of thought, including BioGeometry, physical Radiesthesia, New Homeopathy, and more.

Do you use real gold?

Yes! We use solid 14k gold. We recently started offering gold-filled as an option to make pieces accessible to more people. If gold-filled doesn't show up as an option, please contact me to request a custom.

I want a piece that is sold out. What should I do?

Every piece I make is a genuine one of a kind. If you see a piece you like, but is sold out, you can request a custom order to have me make another one. But please be aware that some stones are very rare and I may not be able to source the exact same stones. Use the contact page to send me a message and we can discuss from there.

GEMSTONES & SPECIMENS

I want a gemstone or specimen that is sold out. What should I do?

Each gemstone and specimen in our shop has been hand selected and may be the only one we could acquire. If you see a piece you like, but is sold out, we offer custom sourcing for gemstones, specimens, and rough stones. Please see our Services page to get started.

Do your gemstones come with a certificate of authenticity?

As of the time of this writing, most of our gemstones do not come with a certificate of authenticity. However, we do offer a GIA certificate as an add-on for most gemstones and cabochons. Please note that only certain stones qualify for an identification + origin report (as opposed to just identification). Rough material or specimens are subject to GIA's ability to grade them. If you have questions about certification, please contact us directly.

Are your stones sourced responsibly?

Yes! We have a network of reputable, honest wholesalers, artisinal miners, dealers, and small businesses that align with our core values of fairness and fair trade, equity, transparency, and doing no harm to people and environment. All of our stones are sourced ethically and responsibly.

I'm looking for a specific stone. Can you help me acquire it?

Yes! We offer custom private sourcing for gemstones, specimens, and rough material, however, our specialty is rare, collector-grade stones, and rare combination stones and specimens. As a GIA alumni and having been in the trade for many years, our founder has a network of dedicated, passionate rockhounds, gemologists, gem dealers, artisinal miners, and wholesalers around the world. She also has direct legal access to the emerald mines in Pakistan and Afghanistan where the world's top emeralds come from. Please see our Services page for more information about our custom private sourcing services.
