This 1.80-carat natural Burmese spinel occupies a genuinely unusual color position in the natural spinel spectrum. The tone is a deep, wine-inflected pinkish-purple that carries both warmth and violet depth simultaneously. It's not strictly pink, not strictly purple, but a mature convergence of both. In direct light, the rosy saturation comes forward. In lower light, the violet depth deepens toward plum. It shifts with the environment in a way that keeps the stone visually interesting from multiple angles and lighting conditions, which is a quality you see in fine Burmese material and rarely elsewhere.

The clarity is exceptional. This stone is VVS (very, very slightly included), meaning the internal structure is essentially clean to the unaided eye, with only minor characteristics requiring magnification to detect. At this tone depth, that level of clarity is rare; darker pinkish-purple spinels frequently carry more internal material, and a VVS example at this saturation level represents a meaningful intersection of color and clarity quality. The oval cut is well-proportioned, creating strong light return across the table and consistent brilliance through the pavilion facets.

This piece is completely unheated and untreated, which is the standard we hold for every stone in our gemstone and mineral collections, and a meaningful distinction in today's market. Fine natural Burmese spinel continues to rise in collector demand, and untreated material from Burma carries both gemological integrity and long-term value that treated stones do not.

WHAT THIS STONE IS USED FOR

One advantage of a faceted gemstone over a rough crystal is the culet, which is the pointed tip at the base of the stone. The culet acts as a focused energy director, similar to the tip of a Vogel crystal. By pointing the culet directly at the body, you can concentrate and deliver the stone's vibrational frequencies into a specific point rather than allowing them to radiate outward in all directions.

This spinel's combination of red and violet band frequencies makes it effective for work that requires both physical activation and etheric clearing in the same session. Hold it over the base chakra or heart during body layouts to introduce the vitalizing, blood-building properties of the red band, then work it upward toward the crown to engage the violet band's transmutational and spiritually amplifying effects. The culet, directed toward the skin, focuses both frequencies precisely into the intended site.

For practitioners who work with the subtle body or in meditation, this stone supports a shift in awareness from the dense physical realm toward spiritual focus, a quality sourced directly from the violet band. It does not sedate or dull; it reorganizes. The red band underneath keeps the process grounded and embodied, so the shift toward spiritual perception remains anchored in the physical body rather than becoming unmoored. This makes it particularly well-suited for practitioners who find high-frequency stones destabilizing.

Set in fine jewelry, this stone is best placed in a ring, pendant, or other setting where it maintains consistent skin contact for sustained vibrational delivery that can be adjusted accordingly. Its untreated origin and VVS clarity also make it a strong addition to a curated collector's case of fine natural Burmese gemstones.

VIBRATIONAL PROFILE

Red Band: Spinel's red band vibrational component operates at the physical foundation of the energy system. At the physical level, this frequency supports core vitality by increasing blood flow and circulation, strengthening the muscles, energizing the liver, and activating the central nervous system. It overcomes lethargy and weakness and supports rapid tissue repair. At the energetic level, the red band is strengthening, stimulating, activating, and warming. It expands and vitalizes. In Chinese medicine, red corresponds to the fire element, connecting to the heart and small Intestine, and is the vibrational force that supports love, joy, and the counteraction of impatience and stagnation. Esoterically, the red band is connected to Archangel Michael and to the warmth ether, the first stage of movement from the astral plane into physical manifestation. In vibrational science, it is understood as the band of strength and willpower to manifest into the physical world: passion, desire, and the vitality to engage fully with physical existence.

Violet Band: This stone's violet band component operates at a distinctly different register from the red. At the physical level, violet builds the spleen and white blood cells, supports the lymphatic system, and is used in serious illness protocols. At the energetic level, violet is faster and more penetrating than white, and it uniquely amplifies any other vibrational color it is used alongside, making it a potent companion to the red band already present in this stone. It produces etheric revitalization and transmutation. At the emotional and mental level, violet shifts awareness away from physical-world concerns and toward a spiritual focus, promoting higher awareness and consciousness. At the spiritual level, it gives one spiritual strength and deepens the effects of meditation. In Rudolf Steiner's system of four ethers, violet is connected to the life ether, the highest of the ethers, which can penetrate solid matter and is the key to the physical materialization of a spiritual impulse. In Daskalos' Archangelic system, violet is the flame of Archangel Raphael, the Archangel of Healing in the Western tradition, who governs etheric vitality. The alchemical tradition of the Violet Flame, associated with the spiritual adept St. Germain, speaks to violet's capacity for transmutation: the conversion of lower, denser energetic states into higher, refined ones.

The pairing of these two bands in a single stone creates an energetic profile that spans the full arc from physical vitality to spiritual transmutation, a range that is unusual to find in one gem and that reflects both the color complexity and the depth of this particular Burmese spinel.

FAQ

JEWELRY

Are the stones and materials you use natural?

Yes! All of the stones we use are high-grade, premium, and 100% natural just as Gaia made them. They are not treated in any way (heat, irradiation, dye, stabilized, etc.) because some treatments alter the vibrational nature of the stone and can be detrimental to the energy field of the wearer. We use either 100% linen or silk thread for our beaded necklaces as they are highly conductive, helping the energy travel powerfully through the piece.

Do pieces come in other sizes or stone combinations?

Each piece made is unique and not made to order. Therefore, this piece cannot be altered and does not come in other sizes or stone combinations. However, if you like this piece and want it longer, made with different stones, or altered in any way, please reach out to request a custom order via the Contact page.

Who made the pieces in your store?

Each piece is handcrafted with intention and love by founder Ashley Sohl. She hand-picks every stone and component that is used, and handmakes each piece with care and attention. We do not believe in mass produced, cookie-cutter jewelry. Sanctuary Vibrational Jewelry makes unique stone ally adornments for inner journeys and personal transformation.

How do you know the vibration of the stones?

The vibrational qualities are painstakingly tested by Ashley using a comibination of ancient and modern vibrational scientific techniques from different schools of thought, including BioGeometry, physical Radiesthesia, New Homeopathy, and more.

Do you use real gold?

Yes! We use solid 14k gold. We recently started offering gold-filled as an option to make pieces accessible to more people. If gold-filled doesn't show up as an option, please contact me to request a custom.

I want a piece that is sold out. What should I do?

Every piece I make is a genuine one of a kind. If you see a piece you like, but is sold out, you can request a custom order to have me make another one. But please be aware that some stones are very rare and I may not be able to source the exact same stones. Use the contact page to send me a message and we can discuss from there.

GEMSTONES & SPECIMENS

I want a gemstone or specimen that is sold out. What should I do?

Each gemstone and specimen in our shop has been hand selected and may be the only one we could acquire. If you see a piece you like, but is sold out, we offer custom sourcing for gemstones, specimens, and rough stones. Please see our Services page to get started.

Do your gemstones come with a certificate of authenticity?

As of the time of this writing, most of our gemstones do not come with a certificate of authenticity. However, we do offer a GIA certificate as an add-on for most gemstones and cabochons. Please note that only certain stones qualify for an identification + origin report (as opposed to just identification). Rough material or specimens are subject to GIA's ability to grade them. If you have questions about certification, please contact us directly.
