The star of this collection is a 2.22 carat (0.443 gram) red beryl twin, two hexagonal crystals growing out of each other from a shared base. It's the largest crystal in this drop, measuring 9.9 x 8.1 x 5.3 mm, with deep, rich raspberry red color and great translucency throughout. A little rhyolite matrix sits on the back and on the top of one twin, and the crystal is completely natural and untreated.

The crystal faces are smooth and natural, and one face shows a natural raised etching, similar to the etching seen on some Nigerian phenakite. Twinned red beryl crystals are a desirable growth habit for collectors, and a twin over 2 carats with this color is a rare find from the only commercial source of gem-quality red beryl in the world.
